Raising Healthy Eaters: Simple Tips for Parents

As it is September and back to school time let’s focus on healthy eating for children. Helping children develop healthy eating habits must start early. When they grow up with nutritious, real food as the norm, they’re more likely to enjoy it and less likely to be picky and crave processed snacks packed with sugar […]

July NW dinner

Our July dinner at Brideler Stuff was a wonderful success, with 12 of us taking centre stage in the heart of a lively, bustling restaurant. While the terrace tempted us, the vibrant buzz indoors was even better! Plates arrived hearty and full of flavour, with generous portions and a wide variety of dishes to choose […]

Garden Tea Party

At the beginning of August, our beloved honorary member and vice-president, Mrs Cynthia Albrecht-Lelliott, hosted an afternoon tea in support of our charities. Tea and prosecco were drank, cakes devoured and funds collected in her lovely garden, while conversations with members, old and new, fostered connections and made the summer just that little bit brighter.

Interinstitutional Networking Fair

Mid June, the Membership Secretary, Chair and Editor represented the club at the INF – Interinstitutional Networking Fair, organised by the European Commission. We took part in order to promote the club and present it to a wider audience. It was a lovely afternoon event, networking with friends old and new, recruiting new members to […]

The Annual BLC Car Boot Sale

Another year, another CBS! Although the weather was not the kindest to our sellers or buyers, it was still a fun event with the double decker making its grand return! Treasures were found, cellars were decluttered, friends were caught up with and even the children were entertained.

The Easter Party

The sun was out for our Easter Party at the end of March. Children enjoyed hunting for colourful Easter eggs hidden around the playground at Strassen Park and were then rewarded with their own big chocolate eggs. The crafts went down well and some wonderful Easter rabbit masks, baskets and wreaths were created. We finished […]

BLC Quiz Night

We had a blast at the Quiz night, brilliantly organised by our Events Manager. As always, Geoff Thompson was our grey-matter-stimulating quiz master and a curry dish spiced it all up. The first three teams walked away with lovely gifts but all participants left with a smile.

A Hidden Gem in Mersch

In March, NW and NE area reps joined forces and organised a fabulous evening at Atypic Restaurant Bar in Mersch. Tucked away at the train station, this Mediterranean spot is a true hidden gem! The interior decor is tastefully chosen, adding to the overall charm of the establishment. A glowing wood burner welcomed us with […]

On a particularly chilly evening, 12 lively ladies gathered around a warm and welcoming table, […]

My Year as a BLC Area Coordinator part 3

In April, we decided to do a joint event with the NE area coordinator Karen and we met in Mersch to enjoy some Italian delicacies at Dimmi Si. The food was fine but maybe expectations were too high, so we left a little disappointed. May, being a month of rebirth and awakening, made our taste […]

My Year as a BLC Area Coordinator part 2

In February 2023, we chose the Maki Sushi shop in Steinfort as the venue for our get together. What convinced us was the fact they had a sushi train! Steinfort has many good restaurants and it is close to the Belgium border, with easy access for our trans-border members, as well.
