On Monday 11 November 2024, Home from Home’s new Teapot Parlour (148 Route d’Arlon, Strassen) will be the venue for the launch of Anne Faber’s new book “Baking with Anne”.

The event starts at 18:30, and Anne will talk about putting together her new cookery book (which is written in English), including from where her inspiration came.

This book is for those looking for easy, tried and tested recipes that anyone can make. In this collection, award-winning author Anne of Anne’s Kitchen shares her cherished family recipes and personal baking creations throughout the seasons. The book holds 75 sweet and savoury recipes, including beloved classics like Anne’s Bamkuch, her viral custard rhubarb cake and lots of yummy Christmas cookies. Seasoned bakers will be happy to discover lesser known traditional Luxembourgish treats, including Anne’s great-grandmother’s recipe for the perfect Schuedi.

Illustrated with beautiful seasonal photos of Luxembourg, this book is guaranteed to provide readers with fantastic baking inspiration throughout the year. It could also make a wonderful Christmas present!

The event will conclude with a reception of crémant, tea and coffee, during which Anne will be signing copies of her book.  For further information and registrations, email: homefromhomeluxembourg@gmail.com

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PMLe Salon de Helen Buchholtz will host a unique concert titled “If Music Be the Food of Love: Songs to Shakespeare”. This recital is a celebration of Shakespeare’s timeless words through music, featuring compositions by renowned English and American composers, such as Benjamin Britten, Michael Tippett, Roger Quilter, Amy Beach, and more.

The program spans centuries of musical interpretation, ranging from Tudor and Jacobean England to 20th-century settings. Performed by Jonathan Hanley (tenor) and Gavin Roberts (piano), this event promises an evening of elation, tragedy, and the exploration of love lost and found—all inspired by the Bard’s poetry.
