14 December – BIFFL Presents… The Penguin Lessons, Family Film
For our last screening of 2025, the British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) is delighted to announce the screening of a family film entitled The Penguin Lessons (EN) on Sunday 14 December 2025 at Kinepolis-Kirchberg at 11:00, in a collaboration with Kinepolis / Ciné Utopia.
Synopsis: Inspired by actual events, the engaging comedy drama stars Steve Coogan as a disillusioned English teacher who goes to work in an exclusive boys boarding school in a divided Argentina in 1976; he finds his life transformed when he rescues an orphaned penguin from the beach, and adopts it. With the country on the eve of a political revolution and military coup that brought down Isabel Peron, the penguin changes people when it unexpectedly comes into their lives. A delightful and heartfelt family film ideal for the holiday season.
