The year 2009, saw the 40th Anniversary of the formation of the BLC, and the club had put together a programme of monthly celebratory events, the flagship event was the Black Tie Gala Dinner Dance held in June.

The club was also running a series of stories, written by members, of their early experiences in Luxembourg.
