Julie’s Cheese and Wine Evening

International Women’s Day

Your committee will be baking, but if you have a favourite cake you would like to share, you are welcome to bring it along too. We will be organising a collection of underwear for the charity Smalls for All (<a href="http://www.smallsforall.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">www.smallsforall.org</a>). Smalls for All is a Scottish charity which collects and distributes underwear to help women and children in Africa and the UK. They collect new or ‘gently worn’ bras which can be any size, including sports and nursing bras, but not teen, cropped-top style or bikini tops. (By ‘gently worn’ they mean bras that are in good condition and still have good wear left in them.) We all have those bras that never really fit properly and that we just don’t use or know what to do with so please come and recycle them with us to donate to this charity. In addition, we will also collect donations of new packets of pants (underwear) for them. All you have to do is buy a packet of ladies’ or children’s pants and bring them to the coffee morning. They must be new and while they collect all sizes, those they need the most are for children aged 3-15 or ladies size 8-14. And while they collect all colours, the ladies’ pants in greatest demand are black – in full brief, midi, mini or high leg (in the smaller sizes). One of our committee members will be driving back to Scotland at Easter and we hope to squeeze our donations into her car so she can deliver them for us! We will also have a book sale of second-hand books with all the proceeds going to our charities this year, so please come along and browse. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.
